The seaports of Rotterdam and Antwerp and the inland port of Liege are conducting a joint study on the consequences of the global economic developments for the use of water connections in Western Europe. This must lead to a framework plan for strategic recommendations on investments in infrastructure. The idea is that the inland ports of Paris and Duisburg will also join in the planning procedure.
The Comité Wallonia is a Walloon initiative to strengthen the logistics network between Wallonia and the ports of Rotterdam and Antwerp. Earlier this year, these parties agreed to explore the possibilities for cooperation in the logistics field. Now, they have agreed to develop a framework plan.
