CIRIA has released the second edition of the Beach management manual with the aim to benefit the whole coastal community.
The manual has been updated since its original publication in 1996, as a vital resource providing the beach manager with the best possible knowledge and techniques on managing beaches for coastal defence purposes while considering other issues such as the environment and amenity.
The revision has been undertaken by a consortium led by CIRIA, which includes Halcrow, HR Wallingford and Royal Haskoning and was funded by the Environment Agency, Natural England, BIRSE, Pevensey Coastal Defence Ltd, SCOPAC, Van Oord and CIRIA Core.
