IHC Hytop, part of IHC Merwede, has announced that its riser pull-in package has successfully pulled in the first three risers on a MODEC FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading) vessel.
The FPSO vessel is currently deployed off the coast of Brazil by MODEC and operated by the contractor on behalf of its customer. It is capable of processing 100,000 barrels of oil per day or 150,000 barrels of total liquids per day, five million cubic metres of gas per day, and has a storage capacity of approximately 1.6 million barrels. The FPSO unit can handle H2S and CO2 removal, and is capable of re-injecting CO2 back down hole at 550 bar – in addition to exporting sales gas to shore.
