Gangavaram Port Limited, India’s ultra modern and deepest port today received the prestigious award for the “Fast Growing Port” in the private sector by the Customs Department as part of the International Customs Day celebrations in Vizag. The award was presented in recognition for the extraordinary contribution by Gangavaram Port in boosting the shipping and port sector and thereby contributing to the overall development of Andhra Pradesh as a marine destination.

Gangavaram Port has been developed as all weather, deepest, most modern and fully mechanized port in India, capable of handling Capesize vessels. Gangavaram Port has redefined port operational standards in India resulting in substantial and unprecedented benefits to the importers/exporters on account of savings due to reduced ocean freight and efficient cargo handling services.

Speaking on the occasion Mr. Sanjay Gupta, Director Commercial, Gangavaram Port Limited said, “We are gratefully honoured to receive this award by the Customs Department. At Gangavaram port we strive to provide best services to our esteemed customers to assist them to reduce their overall logistics cost. We express our sincere thanks and gratitude to the Customs Department for selecting us for giving us this award”.

The Port commenced operations in August 2008 and has handled 27 MMT cargo so far. The Port offers major tangible benefits to Indian exporters and importers through deep draft berths, advanced material handling and evacuation system, highly efficient operations, vast storage areas for all types of cargo and extensive ancillary facilities.
