More than fifty exporters, importers and other trade and logistics professionals participated in a half-day Mexico Business Forum hosted by the Tampa Port Authority on May 26, 2011. Presentations by representatives from ProMexico, Enterprise Florida, US Commercial Service, Zim Integrated Shipping and the Ports of Veracruz, Altamira and Progreso provided a market update and overview of US-Mexican trade and opportunities.

Mexico is the Port of Tampa’s second largest trading partner totaling over 1.3 million tons per year across a wide range of commodities. The Mexico-Tampa Express container service operated by Zim Integrated Shipping provides weekly direct service between Veracruz, Altamira and Tampa, as well as other global connections via Zim’s America’s hub in Kingston, Jamaica.

The Tampa Port Authority ( www.tampaport.com ) administers Florida’s largest and one of the nation’s most diversified ports. The region’s largest economic engine, the Port of Tampa supports nearly 100,000 jobs and generates about $8 billion in annual economic impact.
