The Ecuadorian president Mr Correa has kept his electoral promises to fight extensive flooding : the government has purchased 4 cutter suction dredgers and their auxiliaries. All equipment has been delivered and has partially been built locally. All dredgers are at work at various locations in Ecuador to guarantee dry feet to the locals.
On Presidential request a National Water Management Project started directly after the elections. The aim is to improve the Water Management throughout the country. The 4 Damen cutter suction dredgers all play a vital part in deepening rivers, raising river banks and maintaining reservoirs. The National Water Management Project is managed by Senagua, a government body who owns and operates the dredgers.
