Orion Marine Group, Inc., a leading heavy civil marine contractor serving the infrastructure sector, today announced two contract awards that total approximately $40 million.

The Port of Corpus Christi recently strengthened its cooperative relationship with the Panama Canal Authority to promote trade as a result of the Panama Canal’s lock widening and deepening program. In conjunction with the Port of Corpus Christi’s expansion program, Orion Marine Group has been awarded a project by the US Army Corps of Engineers​ for the expansion of the La Quinta ship channel and turning basin as part of the port’s planned La Quinta Trade Gateway. Additionally, the US Army Corps of Engineers has awarded the Company a project for maintenance dredging on a portion of the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway from Corpus Christi to Port Isabel, Texas.

Onsite construction of the projects is expected to commence towards the end of 2011.
