UAE: Cutter Suction Dredger CSD 500 Launched at Al Jadaf Dockyard

The launching of Cutter Suction Dredger (CSD 500) took place at Al Jadaf Dockyard, Dubai on Sunday October 16, 2011.The ceremony was conducted in the presence of Mr. Anil Daniel Abraham (CEO) and Mr. M.J. Thomas (CFO) of APT Global Marine Services LLC and Mr.Walter van Wijk, Mr.Danny Nijssen and Mr.Ben Maas of VostaLMG.

VostaLMG and APT Global Marine Services LLC signed the contract for the construction of two identical CSD 500’s (BN 1140 and BN 1141) in May 2011.

The keel laying for both vessels was conducted on the 2nd of June 2011, which makes the total construction time for the first vessel only 4, 5 months until launching!

Both vessels are scheduled to be handed over to the client by November 2011.

The CSD 500 is engineered by VostaLMG and fully constructed by APT Global Marine Services LLC. This is the first vessel built by VostaLMG in the United Arab Emirates.
