China: Shanghai Dredging Ltd Bags Tangshan Port Development Project

Recently, Shanghai Dredging Co. Ltd won the bid for section 1 of the channel works of Basin 2 of Caofeidian port area of Tangshan Port, with a value of 112 million yuan and a construction period of 12 months.

Located in Caofeidian port area of Tangshan Port, the project was designed for all-day one-way navigation of 50,000t hydraulic chemical freighters, with a channel azimuth of 0°-180°, a channel invert elevation of -13.8m, an outer channel width of 180m, an inner channel width of 160m, a channel width of 280m within a range of 600m outside the breakwater entrance and a range of 280m inside the breakwater entrance, and a dredging quantity of some 11 million cubic meters.

After completion, the project will further ease the pressure of importing crude fuels like crude oil, improve the transport capacity of the port and play a significant role in stepping up the construction of the Caofeidian port area.
