Governor Nikki Haley is discussing the Department of Health and Environmental Control board’s decision to allow a water quality permit needed for the expansion of Savannah’s port works.
Haley stated that an agreement to meet South Carolina’s rules, including a 50-year dedication to maintain wetlands and check dissolved oxygen levels along the river has been reached.
A news conference at the Statehouse in Columbia is scheduled for Monday.
