Puerto Coronel plans to invest almost $100 million in 2013-2014, in expanding existing installations.

The majority of this investment will be spent on lengthening the existing container terminal.

Work is due to be completed by 2015.

Puerto de Coronel is a private port of public usage and has become the most important multipurpose port in the Bio Bio region. It has specialized in container, break bulk and bulk cargo transference.

The company started operating in 1996 in the Coronel Bay, Bio Bio Region, Chile.
