Canterbury City Council has announced early information on Port of Ramsgate maintenance dredging project.
Details:
The works comprise the options of using the following methods: Water injection; Grab dredging; Back-hoe dredging; Cut and suction dredging.
The works on Port of Ramsgate will consist of:
– Dredging works and disposing of silt material to the Pegwell Bay disposal site;
– Dredging works and disposing of sand material to the adjacent foreshore.
The contract date commences April 2012 until March 2015 with a possible 2 year extension subject to satisfactory performance.
The estimated contract value is approximately £250,000 per annum to be split over all category types, and therefore the amount of work relevant to each category cannot be guaranteed.
The Port of Ramsgate features a 700 berth Royal Harbour Marina with facilities designed to meet the most discerning boaters.
The Royal Harbour Ramsgate, whilst having modern facilities, has an interesting historical background, dating back to Roman times, with many features still in existence.
