The Provincial Government has purchased a brand new dredger from an American company.
The Government will pay $1 million for this piece of equipment, said Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr.
“ The local Government units (LGUs) here can benefit from the services of the dredger in clearing waterways and mitigating the impact of heavy rains” , stated Marañon.
Marañon said the dredger was assembled in Sagay City. Some LGUs even sent dredging machine operators to observe how the equipment was assembled.
He assured that the dredger will be available to the LGUs, provided that they will shoulder the fuel expenses of the equipment.
