China: CCCC 3rd Harbour Co. Wins Ningbo Container Terminal Construction Contract

Recently, CCCC Third Harbour Engineering Company Limited(CCCC 3rd Harbour Co.) won the bid for constructing Berth 3# to 5# of the container terminal in Meishan Free Trade Zone in Ningbo, with a total value of 586 million yuan, and is expected to be completed by late 2013.

Located in the southeast of Meishan Island and the north of Xiangshan Bay in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, the project is Phase 2 of the development and construction of the port on Meishan Island.

With a total length of 994.8m and a width of 57m, the terminal consists of 13 structural sections, and involves a 100,000-tonnage container berth and two 150,000-tonnage berths, three approach bridges and a substation platform.

The project is of great importance to perfecting the functional layout of Zhoushan Port and advancing the industrial upgrading of Ningbo.
