Sjöfartsverket has announced tender for dredging works at the Port of Gavle.
The work mainly consists of dredging approximately 4.1 million cubic metres of soil and clay at the entrance into the Port of Gavle, including the demolition of a lighthouse F4.
Design and construction of one or two new beacons (depending on whether the purchaser exercises the option to include the other lighthouse), and the protection of embankment from erosion at the existing lighthouse F1.

The Port of Gavle lies on an inlet of the Gulf of Bothnia in east central Sweden 174 kilometers north-northwest of Stockholm.
The Port of Gavle is the capital of Gavleborg County and the main export center for the city of Norrland and the Bergslagen region.
It is just northwest of Jarvsta, where there is a Viking burial ground, and the seaport resort of Furuvik.
The Port of Gavle is very important port, with over a thousand ships calling at port each year.
