The seasonal king tides of 4.48m coupled with extremely low tides of 0.61m, and strong winds are contributing to natural water turbidity in Gladstone Harbour.
The Western Basin Dredging and Disposal Project has put the Turbidity Management Plan in action to assist in mitigating these natural variations.
The TMP reduces Al Mahaar Cutter Suction dredging operations on the ebb and peak tides, when natural turbidity recordings are highest.
The decision to reduce dredging has been taken to assist water conditions return to normal as soon as possible.
