Brazilian President Visits Mariel Port Dredging Project (Cuba)

Dilma Rousseff, Brazilian President, accompanied by Cuba President Raul Castro, visited yesterday the Mariel Port development project site in western Cuba.

The Mariel Port development is being undertaken by the Brazilian company COI and a Cuban construction company.

The major dredging project is currently underway and it will allow the entry of bigger vessels into the port.

This dredging operation will allow the Mariel Port to become the principal gateway of Cuban foreign trade.
