Ellicott Dredges, LLC had a record-breaking Q4 of 2011, and a full year 2011. In fact over just the last 40 days of the year, the Ellicott team successfully shipped over a dozen new dredges to 7 different countries, including to every inhabited continent, setting an industry record.

For the full year Ellicott made deliveries in over 25 countries. The dredges shipped in Q4 were both stock and custom designs, and ranged in size from a 300 SL 8″ (200 mm) Swinging Ladder Dredge to several 1870 20″ (500 mm) Cutterhead Dredges. The shipments required 87 truck loads from Ellicott’s plants in Baltimore and Wisconsin.

Sample clients included:

a.) The Turkish Government for a Series 1870 Dragon® Cutter Dredger,

b.) The Ministry of Water Resources of Iraq for multiple dredgers of different sizes,

c.) The US Department of the Interior for an 860 Swinging Ladder dredge,

d.) The Maharashtra Maritime Board in India for (2) Series 370 dredges for small harbors (a deal first announced by President Barack Obama during his 2010 trip to India),

e.) A marine contractor in California, USA, for a small swinging ladder dredge.

Ellicott begins 2012 with several exciting orders including a custom, stainless steel, electrically powered bucketwheel dredge to be used by Mosaic in potash mining, and two 26″ (660 mm) high-capacity dredgers each with a submerged ladder pump to be used by the Government of Bangladesh for river restoration. The Mosaic order represents a repeat order from a long-time client, one of the leading mining companies in the world with a market capitalization of over $15 Billion.
