Gdynia Port Authority has unveiled a $142 million investment plan (2012-2014) which includes port repairs and port modernisation.
This development project also includes infrastructure upgrades, which will absorb $100 million and consist of the remodelling of the quay, development of a road access network and a new loading logistics area.
Port of Gdynia Authority SA is a public service company established on 30 November 1999 by the representatives of the Municipality of Gdynia and the State Treasury and has been serving as a managing body of the port since that moment.
It directly manages the areas where the operating companies in which a PGA SA holds shares and other independent entities carry out handling and storage operations.
The company carries out the objectives set out in the Act on ports and harbours, such as, inter alia, management of the property and port infrastructure, forecasting and planning the port development and the maintenance and expansion of the port infrastructure, while ensuring adequate standards of safety of persons and cargo handling as well as keeping the environmental standards.
