Maintenance Dredging Underway at Kings Bay Entrance Channel (USA)

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers last week announced start of the Kings Bay Entrance Channel maintenance dredging project. Project information: – Maintenance dredging will occur in the federal channel from the jetties to approximately 7nm seaward, – Project limits are from Cut IN Station 80+00 to St

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers last week announced start of the Kings Bay Entrance Channel maintenance dredging project.

Project information:

– Maintenance dredging will occur in the federal channel from the jetties to approximately 7nm seaward,

– Project limits are from Cut IN Station 80+00 to Station 360+0,

– Approximately 620,000 CY of material will be dredge,

– Placement locations include an Ocean Dredged Material Disposal Site (ODMDS) that is located approximately 14 miles south east of the project and the Fort Clinch groin area.

Completion of this project is scheduled for 15 April 2012.
