Nigeria: Governor Approves Money for Yobe River Dredging

Governor Ibrahim Gaidam of Yobe State has approved the dredging of parts of the Kumadugu-Yobe River for the purpose of increasing the flow of water into the river, reports allAfrica.

The governor held an interactive session with elders and community leaders from the 17 local government areas of the state on Tuesday and stated that the Chad Basin Development Authority (CBDA) will carry out the dredging at the cost of N20 million.

Governor Gaidam added that N40 million has been approved and released to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to resuscitate the state-owned Dofarga Spring Water Company based in Gulani Local Government Area.
