As The Nation reports, the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) is studying the best way for utilising the channels leading to the Koko port in Delta State.

Mr Omar Suleiman , the Nigerian Ports Authority Managing Director, stated that NPA is collaborating with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and other investors to revive the Koko port.

He also said that the dredging of the Escravos channel which leads to Warri Port was included in this year’s budget, adding that when approved, it would attract merchant ships into the Delta port.

“ We are going to do everything possible to revitilise the Koko port. It is one of our priorities and we are determined to achieve it by the time our budget for this year is approved, ” concluded Suleiman.
