The Chairman of the 5 man ad-hoc Committee in charge of investigating activities of illegal dredging operators on Lagos Waterways, Hon. Rotimi Abiru, stated that his committee has determined several unregistered dredging operators on Lagos waterways with no permission to operate, perpetrating illegal land reclamation, stockpiling of sand and dredging, at the expense of the State Government, reports Leadership.

“ These developments could be described as fraudulent acts which the State Government would not tolerate anymore. The Committee will invite both the Lagos State Waterfront Authority and the Lagos State Waterways and Infrastructure to appear before the Committee for further clarification as well as their mode of operation, ” he added.

A member of the Committee, Hon. Bayo Osinowo, said that the Committee would not condole any illegality as anyone found guilty would face the full worth of the law. The Committee is expected to present a report by the end of March this year.
