Upon request of the Whitehaven Harbour Commissioners, Anthony D Bates Partnership (ADBP) has completed a hydrographic survey to determine if dredging is required and if so, establish the extent.
This involved undertaking of a single beam survey of the approach channel and all of the water area north of this approach channel up to the south side of the North Pier using an in-house vessel.
This survey was processed and all levels reduced to Chart Datum.
The resulting charts and volumes provided to Whitehaven Harbour highlighted the various levels around the harbour and allowed an informed decision on dredging to be undertaken.
