EUROGATE and its Russian partner National Container Company, NCC, are showing their colours at the TransRussia 2012 in Moscow, the biggest transport and logistics trade fair in eastern Europe and Russia.

In addition to its two German seaport locations Bremerhaven and Hamburg, EUROGATE is presenting Germany’s only deep-water container terminal in Wilhelmshaven.

The trade fair opens its doors in Moscow from 24 to 27 April 2012. In total 506 exhibitors from 32 countries have registered. The organisers are anticipating around 18,000 visitors from over 50 countries.

After completion Wilhelmshaven – as Germany’s only deep-water container terminal – will be EUROGATE’s third container port for global sea transports on the German North Sea coast in addition to Hamburg and Bremerhaven. It is unique for its water depth of 18 metres, which will permit megacarriers with a draught of up to 16.5 metres to access the port at all times without restrictions and independently of tide movements. When fully completed it will be able to handle 2.7 million TEUs/year. The geographical and nautical position of Wilhelmshaven make the terminal an important hub for cargo services to and from eastern Europe and Russia.

The EUROGATE Container Terminal Wilhelmshaven therefore ideally complements the Ust-Luga Container Terminal, which was put into operation by NCC at the end of December 2011, and in which EUROGATE holds a 20 per cent stake.
