ARCADIS, the international design, consulting, engineering and management services company, recently announced that together with its subsidiary EC Harris, it has won a three-year framework contract with Abu Dhabi Ports Company (ADPC) to provide business planning, master planning, design, engineering, program management and training services. Financial details were not disclosed.

EC Harris has an existing working relation with client ADPC for whom it has been providing project control services for the newly built Khalifa Port & Industrial Zone project. The collaboration with ARCADIS made it possible to offer an even broader scope of services, which resulted in the winning of this framework contract.

The three-year Framework contract calls for a very broad scope of services, including, amongst others; port planning and engineering, financial and economic modeling, traffic forecasting and tariff setting, training and logistic services, risk management, navigation and pilotage, port legislation, rules and regulation and port management services.

ADPC is a master developer, owner and operator of Ports and Industrial Zones. The objective of the organization is to act as an enabler for development and trade and contribute to the diversification of the UAE national economy. ADPC is developing all the ports in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi (excluding oil, gas and military).

“ This contract exemplifies the joint strength of ARCADIS and EC Harris in the Middle East and is but one example of the many synergy opportunities between the two firms. Given the potential in the region and our growing presence, I foresee more of these opportunities in the near future ”, said Tim Risbridger, Head of Transportation in the Middle East at EC Harris .
