A spokesman for U.S. Army Corps of Engineers said that the beachfill project in the Brant Beach section of the township is halfway complete.
This $16.7 million project started in March.
The contractors will pump 1.2 million cubic yards of material on the 31st through 57th Street beaches.
Stephen Rochette , the Corps spokesman, said Thursday that close to 600,000 cubic yards of material has been pumped onto beaches so far.
