The Newcastle Herald reports that the Myall River is again full of sediment.
“It’s getting worse. When they finished dredging there was 2.5 metres of water there, now there is only 1.4 metres and that’s not even at low tide,” a motor cruiser owner Steve Ellicott said.
“I’ve never seen it this bad in 30 years.”
Many locals believe the river’s problems will not be resolved until the eastern channel, or short cut, is dredged.
“ They used to dredge the short cut periodically for 50 years and they never had these issues ,” Mr Ellicott said.
