For several years, North Topsail Beach has worked to plan for and maintain the beautiful beaches that make this community so special.
Recently, Coastal Planning and Engineering, the Town’s coastal engineering firm, completed the design and permitting for a comprehensive beach management program for NTB. Reaching this critical milestone is a significant accomplishment for the community and reflects years of effort by the community and its leadership.
In the next year, the Town expects to undertake the Phase I beach project to address the critical erosion project near New River Inlet using its existing funding capacity. Looking ahead, however, the Town recognizes that it will need a solid financial plan to carry out future beach nourishment projects and maintain the beaches it has for the benefit of property owners, the community and the public. By planning years in advance, the Town can be prepared to address the beach erosion problems it faces.
To build upon the record of sound planning, the Town has retained the services of Peter A. Ravella Consulting, LLC (PARC) to help develop the long-term financing plan to support future beach management needs. Peter Ravella, Principal of PARC, has more than 17 years experience in coastal project management and beach nourishment financial planning.
Beginning next month, PARC will be hosting a series of public workshops to explore the potential options to save for the Town’s future beach projects.
