The Lerwick Port Authority is about to spend £45m on a new quay and site huts, reports Construction Enquirer.
They are looking for a contractor that would build a £35m worth facility to handle the decommissioning of giant offshore modules, and a supplier of huts to hold workers worth up to £10m.
In order to create a 30,000 square metre quayside complex, dredging and civil engineering works will also be included.
The £10m contract to create a new modular accommodation block for the workers will create 2,000 square metres of accommodation and 2,850 square metres of warehouse space.
The project is expected to last for 20 months.
