North Topsail Beach is looking to sell bonds to pay for dredging of the New River Inlet, reports jdnews.com.
New River Inlet dredging would also mean sand for beach nourishment.
North Topsail Beach is exploring all options for funding the project.
New River Inlet dredging is important in the long term and would boost the industry.
“ So not only does the project provide benefits to North Topsail Beach, but also to Onslow County as well, ” NTB Town Manager Steve Foster said.
The dredging operation will improve boating navigation through the inlet, NTB Mayor Dan Tuman added.
