Town leaders held a special meeting on Wednesday to find a solution to their beach renourishment problem, reports pleasureisland.wect.com.
The state budget waiting for the governor’s signature excludes funding for Kure Beach’s renourishment project.
Now, the town plans to ask the New Hanover County for the needed $1.4 million.
“ We started working on our budget in late February, early March ,” said Town Commissioner David Heglar. “ If we would have known then what we know today, we would have done some different things .”
