Heavy Load Maldives has claimed that Thilafushi Corporation Limited (TLC) owed MVR26 million for land reclamation work done by the company in Thilafushi, according to haveeru.com.
“ We obtained the fuel when TCL gave us a guarantee of MVR5 million. But we have been hindered by the unpaid MVR26 million from TCL,” a Director of Heavy Load Bushainath Moosa said. “ We are still trying to obtain that money.”
She also revealed that the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) had issued a letter to the company declaring that Heavy Load was not at fault in the Thilafushi land reclamation debacle.
“There have been attempts to discredit the image of this company for political gain. But it is contrary to the truth. ACC had given us a letter stating that there were no issues between us and TCL,” she added.
