The Federal Emergency Management Agency yesterday approved funding to restore Lake Delhi, reports desmoinesregister.com.
“ We’re very happy of the final outcome of this ,” said Steve Leonard, president of the lake district . “ We don’t know truly yet what it means, to what extent .”
That money, Leonard said, would have allowed a bare-bones restoration of the lake. But yesterday’s FEMA announcement should allow the fuller restoration plan to take shape, including as much as $5 million in dredging plus creation of more public access points and reclamation of beaches.
