The Monona City Council awarded the proposed 2012 Dredging Project construction contract to the Veit & Company Inc. A preconstruction meeting will take place before any work begins at a date in early August 2012.
The 2012 Dredging Project will include site clearing and grubbing, grading, and temporary erosion control at dewatering basin in Fireman’s Park as well as hydraulic dredging of material from Sumac Lagoon, Lagoon Du Nord and Lagoon Du Sud, and The Cove. Additional work will include cleaning culverts, maintenance dredging, grading and shaping of all dredged dewatered material, and a complete restoration of the dewatering basin.
The dewatering basin preparation work at Fireman’s Park is scheduled to begin on August 20, 2012 and the lagoon dredging work to commence on September 4, 2012. The dredging work is scheduled be completed by the end of November, 2012, and the site restoration work at Fireman’s Park completed by the end of May 17, 2013.
