The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District is soliciting contractors for maintenance and improvement dredging at Hampton Harbor in Hampton and Seabrook, New Hampshire.

The construction window for dredging activities is between October 15, 2012 and February 1, 2013. The estimated construction cost is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000.

The work on this project consists of maintenance dredging of the entrance channel to Hampton Harbor, and maintenance and improvement dredging of channels and anchorages in the inner harbor.

Inner Harbor facilities include 8-foot deep channels and anchorages on both the Hampton and Seabrook sides of the harbor, and a second shallower 6-foot deep anchorage on the Hampton side.

This project would require the hydraulic dredging of about 172,000 cubic yards of sand that is to be pumped to Hampton and Seabrook beaches.

Material placed on the beaches is to be graded so that the beach face seaward of the berm is no steeper than 1 vertical on 10 horizontal. The project also includes the installation of about 800 feet of sand fencing behind Seabrook Beach.
