Today, Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett will host a news conference at the Philadelphia Regional Port Authority’s Packer Avenue Marine Terminal to discuss the progress of the ongoing Delaware River Main Channel-Deepening Project, which is currently deepening the Delaware River’s main shipping channel from 40 to 45 feet. The event will begin at 1:00 p.m.
Joining Governor Corbett at PRPA’s largest marine terminal will be many strong proponents and allies of the project, individuals whose leadership was instrumental in making the project a reality. These include U.S. Sen. Bob Casey, U.S. Sen. Pat Toomey, U.S. Rep. Bob Brady, U.S. Rep. Pat Meehan, U.S. Rep. John Carney, U.S. Rep. Chaka Fattah, State Sen. Larry Farnese, State Reps. Bill Keller and John Taylor, and Philadelphia City Councilmen Bobby Henon and David Oh.
