U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District, has unveiled plans for the maintenance dredging of the Patchogue River, Westbrook, Connecticut.
The project details
The project scope of work consists of maintenance dredging of the Patchogue River Federal navigation project in Westbrook, Connecticut.
The work consists of dredging about 36,000 cubic yards of predominantly fine-grained silt and clay, from the 8-foot channel and anchorage. The dredged material will be removed using a mechanical dredge and scows.
Disposal will be at the Cornfield Shoals Disposal Site in Long Island Sound, about 9 miles away.
Dredging and disposal window is from October 1, to January 31, 2013.
The estimated cost of this project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000.
