The GUPC Consortium is claiming $573 million from the Panama Canal Authority for breach of contract, reports newsroompanama.com.
Ricardo Gonzalez, the Project Manager , said: “ We’re not asking for anything more or less .”
Alemán Zubieta, the Chief Executive Officer of the Panama Canal Authority , stated that complaints are normal when the contractor faces different conditions and added: “ They have their arguments and we have ours .”
According to newsroompanama.com, the GUPC was awarded the contract for design and construction of the third set of locks for $3.18 billion.
The project is six months behind the schedule.
