Jed Patrick Mabilog, the major of Iloilo City, has announced that the dredging of the Dungon Creek and Calajunan Creek shall be done as soon as possible.
According to iloilotoday.com, a “top dredging priority” will be given to these creeks by using the Water Master dredging machine bought for that purpose by the Department of Public Works and Highways.
This project will include continuous dredging operations to reduce the river stagnation and sustain regular cleaning of waterways by involving the community to reduce pollution.
The dredging machine will arrive on September 25, 2012.
