National Grid and the DEC will soon continue work on the next phase of cleanup at the Utica Harbor.
“ This is a construction project that will address contamination left by a previous company, Utica Gas and Electric,” DEC stated.
According to centralny.ynn, the most of the contaminated sediment was removed in 2010, but now, any remaining sediment will be covered with gravel to promote aquatic life and allow for future dredging.
This project should be completed by winter.
