“ It’s just what the area needed ,” said St. Augustine Beach Mayor S. Gary Snodgrass after the renourishment project was completed.
“ The recent work, which started in February and was finished last month, is part of a 50-year commitment by the Corps of Engineers to keep the beach renourished. This is the third in a series of projects that have to be done periodically, depending on the weather,” he added.
According to staugustine.com, the St. Augustine Beach renourishment work costed about $16.2 million.
