The South Haven City Council this week voted to hire a couple of firms to help it prepare the paperwork needed to undertake some dredging projects next spring.

Assistant City Manager Paul Vandenbosch stated that the dredging work will be needed to make it easier for boats to pass through certain local waterways.

He says that it’ll cost somewhere around 50 thousand dollars to complete the project, and the city has funds set aside to handle that.

In the meantime, it just needs permission from the Army Corps of Engineers.
