The largest dredging project in the United States, the Hudson River dredging, has surpassed this year’s goal.

According to saratogian.com, the officials had set a goal of removing 350,000 cubic yards of contaminated sediment from the river this year, but 466,000 have already been taken out.

Tim Kruppenbacher, General Electric Co.’s operations manager for the Hudson River project , stated: “ We’ve been dredging ever since then, 24 hours a day, six days per week. ”

Work is currently going on about two to three miles south of Fort Edward Village and is expected to conclude for the year, in mid-November, near Griffin Island, reports saratogian.com.
