The Ouachita River is facing hard times these days.
“ A reduced lock operations and a lack of dredging on the upper Ouachita River has effectively killed commercial navigation in Arkansas ,” stated Camden Mayor Chris Claybaker .
“ I can’t sell the Ouachita River anymore. The river hasn’t been dredged in the upper Ouachita for four years, ” added Claybaker.
The Army Corps officials stated that the current lock operation schedules will remain in place through at least 2013, thenewsstar.com reports.
