On October 4, Ocean received the award “Coup de coeur” during the Défi Employeurs Inspirants awards dinner presented by Emploi-Québec and organized by the newspaper “Les Affaires,” the Ordre des conseillers en ressources humaines agréés (CRHA) and Towers Watson.

This ceremony was held during the gala evening of the International French-speaking Human Resources Convention held at Montréal’s convention centre.

The Défi Employeurs Inspirants aims to reward the employers who adopt best practices supporting the commitment and the well-being of their employees, thus raising their pride and contributing to the exceptional positioning of their company.

The “Coup de coeur” is a very special distinction awarded when the jury considers that a company stands out in an exceptional way. Members of the jury recognized that Ocean seizes the occasions of recognition, which are underlined verbally daily or within various activities throughout the year.

Ocean, recognized as a groundbreaker on the Saint Lawrence Seaway and the Great Lakes, employs more than 450 people, owns Canada’s most important fleet of marine equipment and offers a wide range of integrated services: harbour towing, pilot boat services, salvage, marine construction and repair, equipment rental, dredging, welding and machining, mechanics, short and long distance transportation by tug and barge, and much more.

The company uses state-of-the-art and innovative operational methods as well as high-tech equipment. It relies on a diversified team of employees, highly qualified in their field and whose know-how is recognized by their peers throughout the country.
