DP World Receives Three Top Awards (UAE)

In testimony to its determined pursuit of excellence, DP World, UAE Region has won three prestigious awards over just two days.

DP World, UAE Region won the prestigious Lloyd’s List Port Operator Award for 2012 at the Lloyd’s List Middle East and Indian Subcontinent Awards, held in Dubai, the important Investment in People Award at the global Containerisation International Awards in London, and the inaugural Best Regional Sustainability Initiative Award at the Green Middle East Awards for Environmental Excellence event held in Sharjah, UAE.

The Lloyd’s List award recognises DP World for its high levels of efficiency, innovative port community portal and strong growth rate, and was received by Mohammed Ali Ahmed, Chief Operations Officer, DP World, UAE Region. The Containerisation International award was received on behalf of the UAE Region by DP World’s Europe & Russia regional office, while the Sustainability Initiative Award was received by the UAE Region’s Adel Al Mulla, Senior Manager, Training and Systems and Rodney McCulloch, Regional Health and Safety and Environment Manager.

Mohammed Al Muallem, Senior Vice President and Managing Director, DP World, UAE Region , said:

“ We are honoured to receive multiple recognition of the hard work of the dedicated team in the UAE Region, who always strive to go the extra mile. Over the last year we have enhanced our services and operations to more efficiently meet the needs of our customers, which have been steadily growing. We are particularly pleased to be recognised for our commitment to our people, who are our greatest asset, and for our commitment to sustainability, which we take extremely seriously. We thank Lloyd’s List, Containerisation International and Green Middle East for these awards. ”

Mohammed Ali Ahmed, Chief Operations Officer, DP World, UAE Region, said:

“We are delighted to receive these awards. We have a strong focus on operational efficiency, including sustainability. Our efforts at Jebel Ali Port include awareness programmes and environment protection initiatives, which are part of DP World’s commitment to sustainability, not just in the UAE but in every community in which we work.”

The three awards followed a series of wins by the global marine terminal operator over just ten days, including the Maritime Infrastructure Award at the 8th India Shipping Summit 2012 in Mumbai, the MENA CFO of the Year at the 5th Annual MENA CFO Awards for DP World’s Chief Financial Officer, Yuvraj Narayan, in addition to Large Corporate Treasury Team of the Year Award from the Association of Corporate Treasurers Middle East.
