Indonesia: President to Kick Off East Kalimantan Projects

As part of his administration’s master plan for the development of the country’s eastern regions, President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is scheduled to kick off eight major infrastructure projects in East Kalimantan this week, reports thejakartaglobe.com.

S. Adiyat, a spokesman for the provincial administration , said: “ The president is scheduled to arrive in Balikpapan on Tuesday, where he will be met by the governor and other officials to discuss the projects. On Wednesday, he will take part in the groundbreaking ceremonies, which will be centered at the Kariangau container terminal .”

The project costed a budget of Rp 713 billion.

Of this figure, Rp 140 billion for reclamation was taken from the State Budget (APBN); Rp 140 billion for works on land aspect was taken from East Kalimantan Local Budget (APBD); and Rp 427 billion for works on sea aspect was taken from Pelindo IV, according to indii.co.
