St John’s Harbour Dredging Scheduled for 2013 (Antigua and Barbuda)

The dredging project at the St John’s Harbour should start at the end of the winter cruise season in early 2013. The dredging project at the St John’s Harbour should start at the end of the winter cruise season in early 2013.

Chairman of the St John’s Development Corporation (SJDC) Sylvester Browne stated: “ It cannot be done before the season, but right after the season dies out, they can start the job. Cabinet has located the source that can do the job at a cost that they can afford .”

Chairman also added that the removal of silt and sludge from the harbour will cost the government in the range of US $8 or $9 million, reports antiguaobserver.com.
