Last week, Manila Bay based organizations opposed to large-scale land reclamation in this area, asked the Commission on Appointment to bypass incumbent Department of Environment and Natural Resources Secretary Ramon Paje.
Pamalakaya, Koalisyon Kontra Kumbersyon Manila Bay, Anakpawis party list-Manila Bay chapter, Sagip Manila Bay Movement and Save Freedom Island Movement accused Secretary of his inaction on the groups’ appeal to look into complaints against land reclamation projects by the Philippine Reclamation Authority, reports philstar.com.
“ Secretary Paje has no moral, legal and political right to treat us this way. He is giving us the politically, constitutionally and morally correct opportunity to charge him before the court and we will strongly and seriously consider that, ” the group stated.
